Have you ever noticed small spots or clouds drifting across your field of vision? If yes, you could be experiencing floaters, tiny bits of an undissolved gel substance called vitreous. This is a common occurrence for people, as our eyes are filled with vitreous that slowly dissolves as we age.
It may appear that floaters are on the outside of your eye, but they are actually in the back. When light enters the eye and hit these floaters, it creates shadows on the retina, causing it to appear in your vision. These tiny pieces of tissue are not dangerous, and treatment is usually not needed. However, if you notice a sudden increase in floaters or they begin to affect your vision, you may need to visit an eye doctor for an examination.
